Consegui tirar essa foto deserta (e rara) do Palácio de Tiradentes / I was able to snap this desert (and rare) shot of Tiradentes Palace
Even though I live next door to Rio de Janeiro, I confess that I was oblivious to a major part of the city's historical sites. A while ago I decided to change that reality, and for starters, I visited the historical downtown buildings during a lovely Saturday morning. That day I was able to stop and admire the beautiful building without the chaos which the days of the week bring to the neighborhood. I was in awe at the massive amount of historical monuments that exist within the limits of only three blocks. It's amazing how we cross those streets during our entire lives neither minding nor noticing the history there inserted and still pretty much alive.

Como ainda estávamos no verão, escolhi um short cintura alta e uma regata para o passeio matutino / Since it was still summer, I chose high waist shorts and a tank top for a sightseeing day
